# 1 - 💶 How the british Banking System got revolutionised by a 🇺🇦 + 🇷🇺 Combo 🇬🇧

The Following is a great Counter-Example to the current War in Ukraine…

Since the disgusting Attack started the People of Ukraine and Russia are very divided and it’s hard to imagine to see them working together in the Future.

But this Story is maybe a little Silver Lining during these hard Times. At least in Terms of Business…

The ukrainian Vlad Yatsenko and the russian Nikolay Storonsky met each other in the vibrant Financial Sector of London and got Friends. So far nothing Special.

But in 2015, they recognised that in the Age of Apps and Web Applications, the old Way of Banking for End-Customers seems a bit off.

So they decided to start Revolut, to solve this Problem and making managing our own Money an easy Task.

No more queuing during working Hours at a Desk with an unmotivated Service-Folks. No more Calls through an old boring Service-Line.

And after Revolut exploded up with Millions of new Customers, Vald and Nikolay showed us why they are great Role Models for the Topics in the last Issues, on fostering a european Startup-Ecosystem.

Both of them invest their big Paydays from Revolut into new Startup-Talents and help to grow the next Generation of Entrepreneurs.

And instead of only bringing the old legacy Banking-Services into an App. Revolut uses the Globalisation in their favour and is bringing us Services which can be used around the World. (before them, nobody was thinking of this 🤔)

We all hope that War will end soon. This is an important Example that shows what is possible if we work in cooperation.

I know it’s a coincidence that the Founders are from russian and ukrainian Decent. But we need good Stories like this to remember how important Peace is. Even in Business.

And this short Piece is showcasing the prominent NBA Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban. (Being a great Friend of our most famous #41 Dirk Nowitzki, makes him a perfect fit for Issue #41 😉)

Mark became a bit more of a Celebrity than an Entrepreneur in the last Years, but I tell you he his a strong Business Thinker. And in this Video he shows you why.

His views and thinking in Terms of starting Startups and follow Ideas, inspire me since Years. I also recommend you his Book “How to Win at the Sport of Business”. (a very motivational Book 💪)

I love Mark, honestly not only because of his Business Stories. He also helped to make my local Hometown Hero Dirk (a Würzburg Man himself 🏀) to win the NBA, by using his approach to entrepreneurial Thinking at Basketball.
