# 1 - 🔎 How to find your ideal Customer 🙋‍♀️

Everyone in Business is talking about often about Niche. Niche here, Micro-Niche that. Or other Words for Niche like Segment, Focus Group and on and on…

I promise you the first Advice of most “How to build your own Startup”-Articles is starting with:

Find your Niche first.

It’s exhausting. But is this really that crucial?

The short and easy Answer is YES.

An other Word for Niche (I said it to often now already ) is your ideal Customer. And knowing your Customer is a necessary Evil.

Rethink. You need to understand your ideal Customers to know how you have to talk to them. Also how to address their needs, pains and create Value for them.

One Group of People which understood that KYC (Know your Customer) is really important are the VC’s.

Why?

Because they know if you wrong there, you won’t nail a great Business. I am personally think that you not always should ask VC’s for Advice, because they playing on an other playing Field.

But in Terms of defining and finding ideal Customer Groups, they are maybe the best, because they have too. Here is Advice from the Unusual VC in how to find your best Customer Profile.

So take your Time and read the following Article. You will rely on this on the long Run…

That’s why People which had the Problem they solving first themself’s build most of the Time better Startups. Because they understand their ideal Customer better.

# 2 - 🦺 Domi’s „Building in Public“: 🚀 The Engine of Growth 👨‍💻

Welcome to my Public Building Section. This is where you can sit next to me in the first Coach of the Rollercoaster and learn with me together…

Back to my Growth Challenge. A Mode which I am often follow when trying to figuring new Stuff out is, to look at the best Cases and compare them to find similar Tactics through all.

So scaling a Newsletter has thankfully a lot of famous known Stories. And thank god Newsletter-Guys like myself too, need a lot of Content. Therefore all successful One’s usually write somewhere along the Way, how they did it.

You only have to find them and distill the universal Tactics…

Okay. I know. It’s not that easy. You also have to transfer them to your Situation and Test them. But If you recognise a pull, then you found Gold.

In Today’s Issue I brought you 3 new Cases which help me to find new Tactics to Experiment.

Here’s the Stuff I was researching about:

1) Jason Woodruff - A Newsletter for Christians (A MUST READ)

Yes you here me right. This Guy started a Newsletter for Christians and grow it to +500k Readers. He’s working now Full-Time for this. What a Story. (I maybe start to believe in the Holy Grail again 😇)

2) Heather Cox Richardson - A Newsletter for History

Another unbelievable Story again. A History Professor started out with telling People more about Historic Dates and so on… She now has 1.2 Million Subs. (Crazy 🏛️)

3) Lenny Rachitsky - A Newsletter about Product Management

You already read maybe a lot of this Newsletter in the last Issues. I love Lenny’s work. He started talking about how he run Product at AirBnB and got a lot of Attention. Then he just never stoped writing about it.

All of these Stories show us, that the Topic is not the main Driver. All of these Examples used very equal Tactics to grow their Work.

In the next Issues we try to find out which Tactics and Rules they used together.

So stay tuned.

I am still blown away by the Newsletter for Christians. If you can succeed here. Where else can you succeed? Crazy…
