👊 Domi's favourite Things - Issue #36

🕊️ Why Dutch Birds flying up North 🇳🇱

Read time: 6.30 Minutes

Servus Friends, 👊

last week we had a dive into a new Report about the State of Europe, in the European Issue.🇪🇺 (…truly an insightful One)

Today we gather a deeper Look into how a dutch “Carrier Bird” 🐦‍⬛ changed the Way how Businesses talk with their Customers.

In the Social Corner you will get additional Findings to last Week’s Topic of the State of European Tech.

So keep flying Friends…

The Things we are digging in Today:

  1. 📩 How a dutch Startup revolutionised talking to Customers 🐦‍⬛

  2. 🦺 Domi’s „Building in Public“: 🚀 Ideas for “Lead Magnets” 👨‍💻

  3. #Twitter-Box: 🐣 Where the “Startup of Europe” emerged from 🇪🇺

# 1 - 📩 Messaging around with dutch Birds 🐦‍⬛

I think it fair to say that the last Decade was a wild Time in retro-perspective. Just think of all the new Possibilities which came up in Terms of Tech & Usage.

We have so many different Devices for Communication now. So many different Platforms, so many new Socials Channels. Emails, Phones, News, Social Media, Messaging Apps and still things like the good auld TV…

It’s really hard to keep up with all of that. And I doubt that everyone of us is using all the different Methods to receive and give Informations. Nor should use all of them.

An important Problem for Companies too…

At least this was a thought of Founder Robert Vis and his Team. They used this to revolutionise the Way how Business can talk to their Customers.

And the Result is the great dutch Success Story of Message Bird. A Multiplatform to reach your Customers in the Way they prefer.

A great Example next to Booking.com and Takeway.com for the dutch Startup-Economy.

Here is a great talk through the whole Story with the Founder. (1h) Enjoy…

Communication with the Customer is Key to a running Business. Looking back this Idea is so obvious. Another Example that shows us to think bold and follow unobvious Ideas, if you want to build something big.

# 2 - 🦺 Domi’s „Building in Public“: 🚀 Ideas for “Lead Magnets” 👨‍💻

Welcome to my Public Building Section. This is where you can sit next to me in the first Coach of the Rollercoaster and learn with me together…

I falling down the Lead Magnet Rabbit Hole recently. So I will take you with me into the “Domi in Lead-Generation-Land”-Story. 🐇

Lead Magnets is an important Topic. And therefore I brought my Attention to some bigger Brands to see how they use different Content Strategies to get more Leads. Because this is obviously the Reason why they are Unicorns in the End. 🦄

Here’s the Stuff I could find:

1) Hubspot - 20 Lead Magnet Ideas

A CRM-Software-Company with one of the steepest Growths in History can’t be too wrong about that Topic.

2) Zapier - How to create a Lead Magnet that Converts

Another Example with strong Growth through Content in the last Years. And they selling a boring API-Connector. (boring but important 🙃)

3) Neil Patel - How to craft Lead Magnets your Customers can’t ignore

A great Blogger in Terms of Lead Generation.

The Research took some Time in the last Weeks & Issues. But I recognised during the Process, that just putting out Content for Good is not solving the Problem. Getting 1000 Subs needs a better System.

So working at Lead Magnets could be an Eye-Opener for all of us.

Stay tuned.

My Learning from this: It’s better to work 10 Hours with the right System and Idea, than to work 1000 Hours with the wrong One. Especially if you not getting Feedback and Iterate.

#Twitter-Box: 🐣 Where the “Startup of Europe” emerged from 🇪🇺

Last Week we had a look into the State of European Tech a real interesting Chapter about Europe. Therefore I have some additional Thoughts about that for you.

Since the early 2000s, the Startup-Economy in Europe saw some different Waves. And reasoning back can help us to understand how we can create impact for the Future too.

So this Post from Sten Tamkivi (a european Investor) is a real interesting Tweet.

This proofs to me how entrepreneurial Talent is needed in every bigger Mission and Startup. And shows us how a Success of a Business can influence the next Wave of great Founders too.

Also these Charts, are showing you how even a little Country like Estonia can strongly improve their overall Wealth and Prosperity. From the early Skype to the today’s Uber-Contender named Bolt. (which we covered before)

Enjoy the Twitter-Thread…

This is a great Graphic. You can even see this in all other Startup-Hubs like Berlin, Paris, London, Stockholm or Barcelona. Generations of Founders and Executives are building the Bridge for the next Generation.

That’s why entrepreneurial Education is so important.
